A man is on trial for raping his girlfriend, while she was in LABOUR, a court has heard.
The man appeared at Hull Crown Court in the UK and is accused of attacking his pregnant girlfriend after telling her he felt ‘horny’.
She was allegedly bent over on her hands and knees at the time to try and ease the pain of her contractions and he continued to have sex with her, even after she screamed and begged for him to stop.
Prosecutor Michael Greenhalgh told the court how the woman entered the ‘advanced stages of labour’ when the alleged assault took place.
Mr Greenhalgh said: “She was in bed, naked as she normally would be. In order to try and relieve the pressure and the pain of the contractions, she got onto all fours because she had been told that was a way of relieving the pain. She was in that position when the defendant woke up. He saw her naked on all fours and said ‘I feel horny’”.
Afterwards, the court heard the defendant ‘acted as if nothing happened’ and offered to run his girlfriend a bath.
Hours later the woman gave birth to their son in hospital. She returned home to her mother’s house then reported the alleged rape soon after.
The defendant denies the allegations.
The couple can’t be named for legal reasons.
