Karlie Pearce-Stevenson and her daughter Khandalyce have been laid to rest, seven years after they were allegedly murdered.

The mother and daughter were buried together in a white casket in an Alice Springs cemetery on Friday.

Family and friends gathered at Desert Life Church to say their final farewell to the pair, who lived in Alice Springs until some time between 2006 and 2008, when they went south so Karlie could find work.

They were killed within days of each other in December 2008. Karlie’s body lay undiscovered in Belanglo State Forest for two years, finally being discovered in 2010.

Khandalyce’s body was discovered in a suitcase on the side of a highway in South Australia earlier this year.

Daniel James Holdom, 41, has been charged with murdering Karlie. No one has been charged with Khandalyce’s death.
