UPDATE: Police locate remains in NSW national park

A body believed to be the remains of teacher and bride-to-be Stephanie Scott has been found in a national park in the NSW Riverina region.

Forensic specialists have cordoned off a crime scene after a body was found in bushland at Cocopaara National Park, north of Griffith.

It’s believed to be the body of school teacher Stephanie Scott.

Cleaner Vincent Stanford has been charged with the murder of Ms Scott who disappeared on Easter Sunday.

Police arrested 24-year-old Stanford after allegedly finding photos of a burnt body in his phone and blood in his ute.

Authorities have revealed Stanford was arrested at a house on Maiden Avenue in Leeton early last night, and taken into police custody for questioning.

Popular school teacher, Stephanie disappeared after staying back at school to finish lesson plans before her wedding to childhood sweetheart and partner of five years, Aaron Leeson-Woolley.
