Case in point was the vow renewal ceremony of Madonna and U2’s manager Guy Oseary, who invited not only his clients but also Dakota Johnson, Matthew McConaughey and his wife Camila Alves, Noel Gallagher, Helena Christensen, Karen Elson, Amy Schumer, Alicia Keys, P Diddy, David Arquette and Chris Rock to his second wedding in Brazil this weekend.
Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore also reportedly put their differences aside to attend the nuptials.
The $250,000 ceremony took place against the backdrop of the city’s iconic Christ the Redeemer statue, with an Oscars-worthy selfie of Helena Christensen, Dakota Johnson, Karen Elson and Bono being shared on Elson’s Instagram account.
Helena Christensen had a fan girl moment with U2, posing with the full band and sharing the picture on Instagram with the caption: ‘Love these guys. Sat in my bedroom with my dad at age 15, listening to their first, second, third record. We pretended I was doing homework, but we were listening. We both felt the same way. This was epic. We listened to every single record since, together. Soundtracks for life. And I’m so grateful I discovered them with my dad.’
Not to be outshone, Madonna was also ‘gramming the wedding, sharing a picture of herself in a rainbow-hued Fyodor Golan dress ahead of the ceremony before changing into an embellished black dress for the wedding itself. She might have been disappointed that Karen Elson caught the bouquet, however.
The couple first tied the knot in 2006 and have three children together: 11-year-old Oliver, 8-year-old Mia and 5-year-old Levi.
Oseary penned a sweet tribute to his wife of 11 years on Instagram (see picture above), saying: “Today is a special day in my life… my marriage to my Brazilian princess. A new and exciting chapter begins in just a few hours.”
