And they say chivalry is dead.
Julia Price was out for a run last week when she heard a man catcalling her as she passed him.
When she ignored his yells of “sexy lady!” the man, who Price says was “well-dressed and appeared to be on his lunch break from an office job”, became angry and screamed “eff you, dumb b-tch!”
That’s when an unlikely hero stepped in.
As Price took off her headphones to stand up for herself, a little boy called James, who was walking past with his mother and baby sister, heard what was going on.
In a Facebook post that has been liked nearly 900,000 times, Price writes that James said: “Hey. That is not nice to say to her and she didn’t like you yelling at her.
“You shouldn’t do that because she is a nice girl and I don’t let anyone say mean things to people.
“She’s a girl like my sister and I will protect her.”
And the man, who Price says was “immediately embarrassed”, packed up his lunch to leave.
“I asked the mother if I could hug the little boy… I told him how grateful I was for him. He just shrugged and said ‘Well I just wanted to make sure your heart was okay.’
“Thank you so much to the mothers and fathers who are raising the next generation to be brave and courageous.”
What a sweet kid!
