A gorgeous Canadian boy is giving up the opportunity to make one of his dreams come true so that he can help other children instead.
Jack was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in March 2013, and has had to undergo a gruelling treatment plan of weekly chemotherapy sessions, antibiotics, and an agonising spinal tap every three months.
The seven-year-old also requires physiotherapy to help him deal with the pain.
Understandably, with everything Jack and his family have had to go through, the British Columbia and Yukon chapter of charity Children’s Wish stepped in to do something special for the little boy.
But instead of taking the chance to make his dreams come true, Jack has asked to spend his wish on someone else.
Sam Struan, Jack’s Children’s Wish partner, has explained the unusual decision in a YouTube video.
“Usually the money we raise goes to the kid that we partner with, so that would be Jack.
“But instead, Jack wants to raise $10,000 so that he can grant a wish and pay it forward for another sick child.”
$10,000 is, on average, what it costs the charity to grant a wish.
By raising this money, Jack will ensure that Children’s Wish can go on to grant more wishes for sick children.
So far, Jack and his “Jack Attack” team have exceeded their $10,000 goal, with another week to go.
