A dear friend of Hilary Clinton and her daughter Chelsea has published an email she received from the US presidential candidate in hopes of changing her “likeability” with the public.
Mattie Bekink, who’s know the Clintons for almost 20 years, was grieving the loss of her baby daughter Elouise in 2014 when Hillary reached out to her.
In an essay for the Huffington Post, Mattie wrote: “Nothing says more about a person than their values as reflected through family.
“It was humbling and moving that Chelsea herself left her 9-week old daughter for the first time to come stand with me at our daughter’s memorial service. As she was en route, I received the following email:”
Subject: So sorry
Dear Mattie,
When Chelsea arrives to be with you, she’ll be carrying my love and support for you, your husband and son as you go through this painful and challenging time.
If there is anything at all I can ever do for you, please don’t hesitate to ask, my friend.
Love, Hillary
