Two children aged 12 and 13 have driven more than 35 kilometres from their remote property in NSW to get help, after their parents became trapped at the bottom of a well.
News Ltd reports that the children’s father, 29, went down the well to install a water pump.
Their mother, 28, mother went down after him, after he was overcome by fumes, but then the rope ladder broke.
The children were capable drivers, having been raised on the remote property.
Police say the father has died, while the mother is in a serious condition at Orange Base Hospital suffering from shock and possible carbon monoxide poisoning.
