Kids as young as 13 now on Tinder

Scarily, children can download the app for free.

Teens as young as 13 are using dating app Tinder without realising the danger they could be in.

The app has a section for 13-17 year olds as well as one for over-18s and a survey shows more school children now use the app than Australian single adults aged over 35.

Scarily, children can download the app for free however; there is no way of knowing the real age of the person they are matching with.

“The threat exists and is real and vigilance by parents about the apps their children are using is critical,” Taskforce Argos detective Inspector Jon Rouse told The Courier Mail.

Queensland Police Minister Bill Byrne has also called on parents to take an increased role in educating their children on the dangers of the app.

“It is so important for parents to speak with their children about the dangers of social media and smart phone applications and check their online friends and contacts regularly,” he said.
