Speaking to The Times, Ms Steenkamp labelled the convicted athlete “possessive”, “moody” and “arrogant”.
She said she didn’t believe Oscar’s version of events of that fateful night on Valentine’s Day last year when her daughter was shot dead.
“It seems to me he did not look for her when he says he thought he heard intruders. Not one of his actions suggests he felt protective towards her,” Reeva’s mother said.
“He’s the only one who knows the truth.”
Oscar was sentenced to five years behind bars after he was found guilty of culpable homicide, but he could be out within 10 months.
Ms Steenkamp has written a book, Reeva: A mother’s story, which will be published on November 6.

She says that her daughter, 29, was leaving Oscar, 27.
“Her clothes were packed. There is no doubt in our minds: she had decided to leave Oscar that night,” she writes.
“It was Reeva’s bad luck that she met him, because sooner or later he would have killed someone. I do believe that.”
She also reveals that her daughter didn’t have sexual relationship with Oscar. “She had confided to me that she hadn’t slept with him. They’d shared a bed, but she was scared to take the relationship to that level.”
