First Daughter Ivanka Trump has leapt to the defence of 19-year-old Malia Obama after a video of her blowing smoke rings went viral online. The video comes just a few days after footage of her kissing a British student also hit headlines.
The eldest daughter of President Donald Trump Tweeted that the former First Daughter should be granted the same privacy as her fellow students at Harvard University, saying:
“Malia Obama should be allowed the same privacy as he school aged peers. She is a young adult and private citizen, and should be OFF limits.”
A few hours later, Ivanka’s friend and fellow former First Daughter Chelsea Clinton Tweeted similar sentiments, writing that “Malia Obama’s private life, as a young woman, a college student, a private citizen, should not be your clickbait. Be better.”
Clinton has previously defended Barron Trump, the youngest son of her mother’s political rival, after the 11-year-old became the butt of online jokes about his appearance and behaviour.
Malia Obama took a gap year before starting her studies at Harvard University earlier this autumn.
