Hillary Clinton has returned to the campaign trail and told reporters at a rally in Greensboro, North Carolina that a recent bout of pneumonia didn’t worry her too much.
“I have to say, from my perspective, I thought I was going to be fine,” she said. “I thought there wasn’t really any reason to make a big fuss about it. I should have taken time off earlier. I didn’t. Now I have and I’m back on the campaign trail.”
The democratic candidate said that her team knew the about the situation before her dramatic 9/11 collapse.
“This was an ailment that many people just power through, and that’s what I thought I would do as well,” said Clinton.
“I didn’t want to stop. I didn’t want to quit campaigning. I certainly didn’t want to miss the 9/11 memorial… I consider it a sacred moment.”
Secretary Clinton’s doctor, Dr. Lisa R. Bardack made public her pneumonia diagnosis after the 68-year-old became “overheated and dehydrated” at the September 11 event.
After Clinton was taken from the New York ceremony to her daughter, Chelsea’s Manhattan apartment her physician squashed claims that the presidential candidate was suffering from something serious.
Bardack said: “While at this morning’s event, she became overheated and dehydrated. I have just examined her and she is now re-hydrated and recovering nicely.”
