Update 05/01:
Yesterday, the world was captivated/shocked/amazed by a viral video of a toddler saving his twin brother after a chest of drawers fell on top of him.
The superbaby managed to pull his twin from under the massive chest and both were left unscathed.
Whatever your feelings on the boys being left alone, the miraculous strength of the twin was nothing short of incredible and everyone breathed a sigh of relief when he freed his brother.
However, some social media commentators have been quick to call ‘hoax’ on the video as it’s now transpired the twins’ father Ricky Shoff may work for the home surveillance company the footage was caught on. Many also note it’s strange there doesn’t appear to be anything in the drawers and question why the camera would be pointed straight at the furniture.
The parents denied it was a hoax to CNN, though they did note it was a strange coincidence:
“It’s ironic that it actually worked at my house that we caught something like that. He [his son]’s pretty tough, he’s a strong kid but we think there was a little bit of extra help in there.”
Original story:
They say twins have an extra special connection but in this instance, a tiny twin saved the other’s life in a moment of quick thinking and incredible strength.
Bowdy and Brock Shoff are 2-year-old twins from Utah. Their father posted a video of Bowdy saving Brock’s life after he was nearly crushed by a chest of drawers.
Ricky Shoff posted the video to his Facebook page to warn other parents. Amazingly, he and his wife didn’t even know the incident had happened until they reviewed surveillance footage of the boys’ nursery.
“I’ve been a little hesitant to post this,” Mr Shoff wrote.
“But I feel it’s not only to bring awareness, but it is also incredible.”
The video shows the twins attempting to climb up the chest of drawers when it topples over and falls, crushing Brock underneath it.
Bowdy looks for ways to move the furniture off his brother and eventually pushes the drawers off Brock, who rolls out and stands up.
Watch the heart-stopping moment below:
“We are so grateful for the bond that these twins brother share,” Mr Shoff said in his post.
“We know Bowdy was not alone in moving the dresser off of Brock. And we feel blessed that he is ok.
“Please make sure all your dressers are bolted and secured to the wall. Please share.”
The post has been shared close to three thousand times with over 600 comments, although not all comments are positive, with some saying the little boys should’ve been watched more closely.
An incredible moment nonetheless.
