A mother’s split second decision has saved her son’s life.
Angela Goldthorpe was driving her nine-year-old son Sean to judo practice in Doonside, Sydney when a stolen Alfa Romeo drove past them.
Their car was clipped, forcing them off the road.
However, Ms Goldthorpe’s quick decision to veer the car towards a tree ensured it was her side of the vehicle that took the impact, not her sons.
“I’m just a mum,” she told 7News. “His [Sean’s] life comes before mine.”
Ms Goldthorpe suffered fractures to her spine and may need surgery.
Police has since arrested a 21-year-old man and are searching for a second man.
