A TWO-month-old baby girl nicknamed Queenie has died after being stabbed in Queensland.
Police have detained the baby’s grandpa, who was visiting the family from China.
News Ltd reports that Queenie’s full name is Qianqian Xu, and she lived in Parkinson in Brisbane’s south.
Her mother and her grandmother, who was also visiting from China, managed to escape from the home.
News Ltd says the grandpa was found bleeding on the front lawn of the house.
He underwent surgery, as did his wife and the baby, but the baby died.
‘An argument inside the home is alleged to have sparked the stabbing, and blood was seen around the garage doorway and driveway of a home,’ News Ltd says.
Police were last night seeking a translator to formally speak to the baby’s mother.
‘Sun Gill, who lives behind the home, said he heard the screams while he was outside,’ the report says.
“I was outside feeding my dogs when I heard the screams, they were very loud,” he said.
“I ran outside down the street then and I saw him (the grandfather) walking down the street with blood pouring from him.
“When I saw him outside, he was losing a lot of blood. When we saw him in the street, he then stumbled into a neighbour’s front yard.”
