A four-year-old girl has drowned in a bath at a Western Sydney home.
Police are investigating the death after the girl was found unresponsive in the bath around 6:15pm on Tuesday in her West Hoxton home.
Ambulance officers worked desperately to save the girl, performing CPR and rushed her to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.
They were able to briefly revive the girl, but a NSW Police Force spokeswoman said she died a short time later.
She had been submerged in water for some time, an NSW Ambulance officer said.
Although officers from Green Valley Local Area Command are investigating the death, a police spokeswoman said it was most likely a “tragic accident”.
Forensic officers and police remain at the scene while the police prepare a report for the coroner.
