Former AFL star Justin Murphy has been sentenced to six months in prison. He pleaded guilty to 28 charges for a series of attacks on his ex-partner, including one which involved a blowtorch.
Justin Murphy appeared before Heidelberg Magistrate’s Court where the court heard he repeatedly stalked, robbed and threatened to kill Jill Scott.
The Magistrate called it a “campaign of terror”.
Shockingly, the court also heard Murphy attacked Ms Scott with a blowtorch causing her to lose her middle finger as a result of the extensive burns.
Ms Scott spoke to 7 News about her ordeal, saying she will be affected by the attacks for the rest of her life.
“I have flashes for life, dreams for life. I wake up screaming,” she 7 News. “Evil. That’s pretty much the word for it.”
The disgraced footy star claimed he’d been impacted by his drug dependency – he said he was hooked on ice and GHB.
