Father of newborn fighting for his life after violent carjacking in Melbourne

The man is on life support after being bashed by at least two men on his way to pick up his wife from work. Horrific.

A 32-year-old man is fighting for his life after a violent carjacking in Box Hill South, Melbourne.

He was reportedly bashed unconscious by at least two men outside his home as he left to pick up his wife from work.

At least two men attacked him, police said, before stealing his black Honda CRV, registration ZRK 896.

His wife, who wished to remain anonymous, says it was an unprovoked attack.

“He’s a perfect husband, and a really good dad, and he’s working hard to get back to us,” she told Seven News.

“I think it’s random, but they had been prepared for it, well prepared.”

He was found unconscious and bleeding heavily by his father-in-law, just metres from the house where his one-month-old baby was sleeping.

“I’m a new mum,” his wife continued. “If I lost my husband, I have no idea what that means to me.”

The man is currently on life support in the Royal Melbourne Hosptial.
