A shocking discovery has revealed that an Argentinian man has allegedly kept his wife, 61, and son, 32, locked up in a cage for years.
According to The Mirror the mother and son were tied up with chains and rope in the brick, wood and metal bar structure discovered at the house in the holiday resort town Mar Del Plata.
It is also reported that former construction worker Eduardo Ovidiedo, 66, forced the pair to eat dog food and drink gasoline evidence of which was found in the cage by local police alongside human excrement and syringes.
Described as a “violent man” Oviedo has been charged with aggravated kidnapping and keeping his family in conditions of servitude, and is to undergo a psychiatric evaluation.
If convicted the accused faces 15 years imprisonment, however due to Oviedo “aggravating circumstances” his penalty may be increased to life.
His victims are in hospital and it is unknown just how long he kept them captive is such squalid conditions.
