A father has issued a warning to parents after a disturbing conversation on his pre-teen’s phone.
The man was going through his 11-year-old’s phone when he stumbled upon a message from a predator.
“Was going through my daughter’s phone and came across a message request… on fb messenger,” the dad wrote.
“She had not answered him because she knows she is not allowed to converse with unknowns unless I approve.”
Wanting to know what the man wanted, he pretended to be his daughter and then posted the subsequent disturbing conversation which has now been shared over 515,000 times.
“So I messaged him from her account,” wrote the dad. “Please help me make this guy famous so that he will not be able to target another child.”
The dad also revealed the man had been using his own personal Facebook account, making no attempt to conceal his identity or a fake profile.
“He’s been reported, he has a warrant,” he said. “Won’t be long until he’s picked up.”
In response to the unnerving conversation, some expressed concern for an 11-year-old on Facebook, stating that the minimum age for the social media platform is 13.
“Also people on here screaming about this 11-year-old has a Facebook – oh my god,” he says. “Well, the rule is that they have to be 13, so I guess if she was 13, totally ok then, huh?”
“Just want to say thank you all, and keep up the sharing – let’s make sure everybody knows about this guy.”
