A father has been charged with child abuse after sealing his crying daughter in a white bucket to ‘teach her a lesson.’
Footage of the incident provoked outrage after being posted online across the Middle East.
The Israeli National News says the footage shows “an Arab citizen of Israel cruelly sealing his crying infant daughter in a plastic bucket.”
The girl could easily have suffocated.
The report says the abusive father is “from a well known family in Abu Gosh who claimed that his potentially lethal action was meant to be “educational.”
“In the video, he can be heard telling his daughter that he’s taking her to the butcher shop” before locking her in the bucket and carrying it around the city.
Police arrested the father and charged him with abusing a minor.
“This is one of the most shocking pieces of footage we’ve received,” said the police.
“The man simply lost it.”
