A dashboard camera has recorded the disturbing footage of a mechanic, reportedly drunk, joyriding in a customer’s car – with a child strapped into the passenger’s seat.
The footage, which was posted online by entertainment website LiveLeak, shows the mechanic racing around the suburbs of Rhode Island, US, whilst bragging that he is drunk.
The mechanic was driving a customer’s car whilst he was supposed to be fixing it, and admitted to the child riding with him that he wanted to see ‘how fast it goes’.
Whilst driving, the mechanic phones a friend to whom he admits that he and a colleague drank a bottle of wine earlier in the day.
Throughout the duration of the drive, the child – suspected to be a little boy – is heard asking the mechanic to stop.
“Please stop, you’re scaring me sick,” he says at one point.
“I’m worried it’s going to go out of control,” says the little boy later.
Towards the end of the drive, the mechanic notices the dash cam and remarks that they are being filmed.
