Another day, another idiotic comment sprouting from Donald Trump’s presidential campaign.
This time, it’s his campaign manager Kellyanne Conway who’s sparked outrage by blaming lack of brawn as an actual reason for women being raped.
Discussing the roles of women in the military during a 2013 TV appearance, Conway said, “If we were physiologically — not mentally, emotionally, professionally — equal to men, if we were physiologically as strong as men, rape would not exist.
“You would be able to defend yourself and fight him off.”
Perhaps we shouldn’t be shocked for something so absurd coming from someone who’s serving under Trump, who once tweeted:
Conway’s comment resurfaced this week, with the Democratic Coalition Against Trump using it as another example of why a Trump government would be detrimental.
“We cannot have a reality show in the White House; the stakes are just too high, especially for women,” said the group’s National Finance Director Francesca Lucia.
