US President Donald Trump has drawn criticism from senior Republicans following an astonishing attack on female TV journalist, Mika Brzezinski.
The president made the comments on, you guessed it, Twitter. He insulted her looks, brains and temperament.
He called her “Low I.Q. Crazy Mika” and said she was “bleeding badly from a face-lift” when he met her in the past.
Brzezinski is a presenter on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, which has reportedly been criticising the president.
The tweets “represent what is wrong with American politics, not the greatness of America,” said Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, another Republican senator, Ben Sasse, saying the comments were, “beneath the dignity of your office”.
“I don’t see that as an appropriate comment,” Republican House of Representatives Speaker Paul Ryan concluded.

It’s not the first time the president has been criticised for attacking journalists. Trump was widely condemned for appearing to mock a disabled reporter last year.
And it’s not like he has the best reputation when it comes to women either. “Grab her by the ‘you know what’” springs to mind…
