All Mazda 2 (DE), Mazda 3 (BL), and Mazda 6(GH) models bought in Australia have been recalled by the company.
If you or anyone you know bought a Mazda between 4th September 2007 and 28th March 2012, you might want to get it checked out.
The recall comes with some awkward timing – the latest version of the Mazda6 was named judges’ choice winner in Australia’s Best Cars awards the same day.
In the affected models, it’s possible that the seat height adjustment lifter link may crack on the driver’s seat, or the lifter link retaining nuts may separate.
The seat might exhibit an irregular noise or rattling.
Worst case scenario is that the lifter link may break or separate from the seat frame and cause the seat to move out of position.
If your car is affected, Mazda Australia will contact you by mail.
Owners are advised to present their car to their preferred Mazda Dealer so that it can be inspected and repaired if need be at no charge.
