A Victorian teen with a disability was allegedly lured to park where she was tortured for hours by three girls in an attack that senior police say, is the worst they’ve seen in 30 years.
During the attack, which took place in the Gippsland town Moe in the early hours of Monday morning, the 17-year-old was forced to inhale glass presumed to be from her smashed iPhone, had her hands burnt on a hot barbecue, and repeatedly kicked her head into a wooden table while she sat slumped on the ground.
The entire attack was filmed on a phone by one of the attackers and then uploaded to social media.
It’s believed the teen was lured to the park by the three girls, aged between 12 and 15 years-old, under the pretence that she was going to meet her boyfriend.
The teen was taken to hospital and is now recovering at home. The three girls have been charged with robbery and assault with the youngest, a 12-year-old, released on bail.
The victim’s mother told Ten News the attack on her daughter was “incomprehensible” and that her injuries have made her unrecognisable.
“The amount of times they pummelled her head into that picnic table is disgusting,” she said.
Detective Senior Constable Michael Thek said senior police claim the incident is what many members describe as the worst they’ve ever seen.
“A lot of senior police here say it’s one of the worst assaults they’ve seen in some 30 years”.
