It appears that nothing is sacred to some with Princess Diana’s intimate letters to her illicit lover reportedly being up for the taking to the right bidder according to Aol.
James Hewitt and Lady Di had a complicated relationship that spanned five years during which time the Princess penned affectionate and intimate letters to Hewitt.
Hewitt publicly announced in 2003 during an interview with Larry King that he would sell the letters for $15 million, but he has since recanted this offer.
When questioned about this latest scandal he denied any knowledge of it, however LA based memorabilia dealer, Gary Zimet, confirmed that he is in negotiations to handle the sale of the letters.
A serious offer was made for $150,000 but Hewitt declined amid rumours that perhaps the offer was not high enough.
After the scandal broke, Hewitt released a statement purporting that he will not part with the letters “until [he dies].”
