Brisbane horror: Dispute about medication precedes baby Queenie’s death

More details have emerged about the shocking death of two-month-old baby Queenie in Brisbane.

The grandfather who allegedly stabbed baby Queenie was reportedly furious after arguing with his family about his medication.

The Courier Mail reports, in the moments before the brutal attack on Wednesday afternoon, Queenie’s family confronted the grandfather about skipping medication and acting strangely.

Police were called to the home in Watheroo Place at around 2.30pm on Wednesday afternoon after the baby’s mother fled to a nearby house to get help.

Queenie’s grandmother was found unconscious in the house and the newborn was rushed to Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital suffering stab wounds.

Sadly, she died in hospital.

Queenie’s mother is in a serious but stable condition, while the grandfather is under police guard. He will receive a bedside hearing today and is expected to be charged with murder.

More to come.
