In 2015, 37 million ‘potential cheaters’ were outed when affair website AshleyMadison.com was hacked.
But a data hack TEN TIMES the size of this has just happened to ‘sex and swingers’ database, AdultFriendFinder.
412 million accounts on the Friend Finder Network — the company behind a number of X-rated sites — were hacked back in October, and 339 million of those users were specifically exposed with names, emails, and passwords.
Even if you’re in a happily polygamous relationship, we’re pretty sure users will be less than impressed if they’ve been outed online in what’s a blatant breach of privacy.
What’s more, it’s not just current users being named; 15 million of the victims were allegedly deleted accounts as the database stored customers from the past 20 years.
And for celebrity users too. Remember when Josh Duggar was outed on Ashley Madison?
The fall-out from this could be monumental.
