Brett Cowan, the man convicted of murdering Queensland teenager, Daniel Morcombe, has lost his appeal.
The 45-year-old, who was sentenced to life in prison last year, appeared before a court this morning to appeal his sentence, but has since lost his case.
The appeal was originally heard more than six months ago by Justice Carmody, Court of Appeal president Margaret McMurdo and Justice Hugh Fraser. However, earlier this week it was revealed Queensland Chief Justice Carmody would be removing himself from the appeal amid controversial allegations of perceived bias
The man was convicted of murdering 13-year-old Daniel when he abducted him from a bus stop and left his remains in a nearby park in 2003.
Cowan will serve out the remainder of his sentence.
