Man charged with Karlie Pearce-Stevenson’s murder involved in children’s death months before

The man who has been accused of Karlie Jade Pearce-Stevenson's murder was allegedly involved in a fatal car crash that killed three, including two children, months before.

The man accused of murdering Karlie Pearce-Stevenson and dumping her body in the Belanglo State Forest was involved in the deaths of two children just months before Karlie died.

The Daily Telegraph reports on the startling twist in the case, involving Daniel Holdom, who was formally charged with Karlie’s murder yesterday.

The Telegraph says Daniel Holdom was driving a car that crashed in 2008, leaving his then-girlfriend, Hazel Passmore, in a wheelchair and killing two of her children, Willow, nine, and Ryan, six.

The accident occurred in September 2008.

Holdom is accused of murdering Karlie just three months later. It seems that they already knew each other before the accident that paralyzed his girlfriend and killed her children. He has not been charged with the murder of Karlie’s daughter, Khandalyce.

Police have previously said that a woman in a wheelchair went to Centrelink after Karlie’s death, pretending to be Karlie. Around $100,000 was drained from her bank account in the four years after she died.

Police say that phone records place Holdom in Belanglo State Forest on December 14 and 15, when they allege Ms Pearce-Stevenson was murdered.
