However, their plea has been met with a stark refusal with authorities standing by the statement last week that any TV interview may be a breach of Corby’s parole conditions and result in her going back to jail.
The letter was handed to parole board chief Ketut Artha earlier this week by Wayan Widyartha.
“The letter was signed by Wayan, Mercedes and Schapelle Corby. I told him that I don’t need to give you the answer again as it has all been explained already, based on the Deputy Minister’s instruction,” Mr Artha said.
“I have repeatedly conveyed to him that it is impossible for me to allow the interview.”
Mr Artha’s comments were backed up by the head Bali’s Justice Ministry, Gusti Kompiang Adnyana.
“The instruction from the Deputy (Justice) Minister has been clear. The interview should not be done. It is the final decision. If she does the interview we’ll see later what will happen,” Mr Adnyana told newspapers, referring to warnings that Corby could find herself back in Kerobokan jail.
