A chilling note was discovered in an unopened box of Naturalizer shoes imported from Ethiopia according to news.com.au.
The note depicts a person wearing what is believed to be traditional Ethiopian headwear sitting at what is presumably a work station, and underneath is a note written in non-English.
A friend of the person who discovered the note posted it to Reddit asking for someone to decipher the message.
Reddit user knuckles 125 claims the message says:
“We are thirsty and over worked. Militia type soldiers are on top of each other watching us. Help us.”
Fellow user ghostinahumanshape believes the notes translates to words such as “hungry”, “depressed”, “afraid” and “soldiers/killed/death/family”, concluding with “help”.
The Reddit post has had thousands of responses, some serious, some ridiculous, however many feel that it is something that ought to be further investigated by the American authorities.
