Three young children have been forced to watch their mother being dragged along a road in an alleged hit-and-run outside a childcare centre in Bass Hill on Monday afternoon.
The woman suffered critical head injuries, fractures to her leg, pelvis and elbow and is now fighting for her life at Liverpool Hospital report the Sydney Morning Herald.
The horrific scene occurred on Chester Hill Road at around 3:15pm.
The woman and her three children had just crossed the road to reach their parked car and as the children watched on from the footpath, their mother was struck by a black Subaru Impreza as “she was getting something out of her vehicle”, according to the SMH.
The woman was knocked unconscious after she was dragged along the road by the Subaru Impreza which allegedly fled the scene, a NSW Police spokeswoman said.
A 26-year-old woman has been arrested and charged for the alleged hit-and-run but has been released on conditional bail.
She is due to appear at Burwood Local Court on November 5.
