Former ‘first daughter’ Chelsea Clinton has condemned the online treatment of Donald Trump’s 10-year-old son, Barron, in an impassioned status on Facebook.
Chelsea led the charge to protect Barron after Katie Rich, a writer on Saturday Night Live took a severely ill-advised aim at Barron on Twitter.
The now-deleted tweet read:
Hillary Clinton’s daughter is now urging the public to remember that Barron is just a boy.
“Barron Trump deserves the chance every child does-to be a kid,” Chelsea wrote.
It’s worth noting Chelsea also acknowledged that safeguarding children means holding the Trump administration accountable for policies that could potentially harm kids so the status wasn’t without its politics.
“Standing up for every kid also means opposing POTUS policies that hurt kids,” she finished.
Rich has been suspended from SNL indefinitely and has since issued an apology.
