A photo of a rare and deadly creature has been posted to Facebook but only those with very keen eyes will see it.
It is a master of disguise, which is evident by the image of the tree dwelling snake so well camouflaged that you could walk right by it and not ever notice.
The Stephen’s Banded snake usually only found behind glass in the zoo which is probably the safest way to observe the reptile as they are eager biters.
Although less deadly than a brown snake a bite from this chap will not end well if the recipient doesn’t receive urgent attention.
This Stephen’s Banded snake was photographed in Maitland, north of Sydney, and is usually found only certain parts of NSW and the Gold Coast Hinterland, and is a vulnerable species.
