The installation of a Telstra NBN box has been completely botched when the technician placed it directly above an outdoor tap, so much so that the tap can’t be turned.
Tammy Marti, from Sydney’s outer west Emu Plains, posted the picture to Telstra on Sunday with the caption: “Thanks for installing my NBN Telstra…. But I can’t turn my water tap on now!”
It has not been confirmed if the utility box was installed by Telstra, NBN or possibly a contracted technician.
Two days later, Telstra responded to Tammy’s post: “Apologies for the delay in response Tammy. Are you still needing a hand? We’re happy to assist or at least point you in the right direction for help.”
They then told her to get in touch with the Telstra fault team to get it fixed, to which Tammy replied: “I’ve been told someone should call me back in the next few days to organise a technician to come out and fix.
“This was after I was asked if I authorised the original guy to install the box, trying to make it sound like it was my fault for letting him do it,” she continued. “I politely said I was not responsible for supervising the guy.”
“My concern is that it’s going to be a very hot week and I can’t water my front garden.”
As of yesterday, the matter had still not been resolved.
