News 4 Santonio reports the incident occurred in Texas, US, and that the arrested youth whose identity has not been revealed, is responsible for the burns to young Kayden Culp.

Kayden’s mother Tristyn Hatchett has been interviewed by the media outlet and has said a relative of one of the boys present said it was one boy who doused Kayden with gasoline and set him alight. The family believes the attack was planned.

“The other boys who were there having been telling kids at school that it was not an accident, that it was intentional,” she said.

“My son is a special guy. He was rowdy and he liked to have fun.

“He considered these guys his friends, but they would make fun of him and pick on him and tease him. He was usually the brunt of that kind of joke, but he kept playing with them.”

She added that Kayden exhibits autistic behaviour although he has not been diagnosed. He also has some trouble speaking and hearing.

A You Caring page has been set up to help Kayden, who reportedly has taken a turn for the worst, and his family. It aimed to raise USD$10,000 but has already reached $133,502.
