Brisbane dad-of-seven killed in one-punch attack: man arrested

Timothy Lang, 48, died on Monday after an alleged random one-punch attack from a shirtless jogger in South Brisbane.

A 38-year-old man has been remanded in custody after appearing in court over a fatal one-punch attack in South Brisbane.

Wayne Hearn, of Fortitude Valley, was arrested and charged after a four-day police search for the person responsible for the attack, which claimed the life of Timothy Lang.

Police had released CCTV footage which showed Mr Lang being punched by a shirtless jogger after an exchange of words on a South Brisbane street on Saturday morning (October 8) at 10.15am.

Mr Lang died in the Princess Alexandra Hospital on Monday afternoon after his life support was turned off.

The pair are believed to have known each other.

Hearn was arrested a few hours after police released the video. TV media caught footage of him smiling in the back of police vehicles as he was driven away.
