Boy, 12, bashed and robbed as passers-by ignore his pleas for help

This is so disappointing.
Boy robbed

A young Melbourne boy was walking along Como Parade West towards Parkdale train station when he was attacked by two teenagers, who hit him before making off with his watch.

The pair approached the youngster at around 5.00pm on Wednesday, March 22, demanding his wallet. When he refused to give it up, the two threatened him.

Frightened, the boy asked a pedestrian close by to phone police, but in news that can only be described as disappointing, the passer-by ignored him and kept on their way.

The boy then reportedly tried to run, but police say the duo pushed him against a post, stole his timepiece and fled towards the railway, crossing over the tracks in their escape.

Kingston crime investigation’s Detective Senior-Sergeant Shane Cashman and his unit are now in search for the two teens, reports The Leader.

One is described to be a 175cm 18-year-old of Caucasian appearance with an unshaven face, brown eyes and a lean build. He was wearing camouflage pants, a blue and white hoodie and a black hat with an orange logo.

The second is said to be 15 or 16 years old, and at 160cm has shoulder-length blonde hair, blue eyes and pimples. He was reportedly wearing a black Nike jumper and black shorts at the time of the incident.

Police are urging anyone with information to come forward by calling Kingston CIU on (03) 9556 6111.
