Following reports Tui Gallaher had gone missing after he’d gone for a nighttime swim with his cousin on December 27 at Maroubra Beach, police have recovered a body they believe to be the 14-year-old.

After continuing their search for the boy in the early hours of this morning, at 7:15am police were called to the southern end of the beach after a member of the public reported a body washed up on the shore.

This comes after police and emergency crews were called to Maroubra Beach at 8:30pm on Tuesday night following reports two teenagers were in trouble in the water.

According to the ABC, the body hasn’t been formally identified, however, the search for the teenager has since been suspended and his family have been notified.
