Body found in backyard just south of Brisbane

Police are treating the death of the man aged 27 as "suspicious".

A body has been found on a suburban property just south of Brisbane which police are treating as “suspicious.”

Queensland Police confirmed Thursday’s grim discovery and said that the body, found in the backyard of an Edenlea Drive address in Meadowbrook around 6pm, was believed to be that of a man.

Police said the cause of death has not yet been determined and specialist police were on scene with investigations continuing late into Thursday evening.

The location of the body is in close proximity to Logan Hospital and Griffith Universities Logan campus.

“It appears the man has been deceased for two to three days,” police told local media.

“The resident of the house was unaware of it as far as we know. The body was located in the back patio area on some furniture.”

The investigation continues.
