Baby found alive in drain after being thrown nine metres from car crash

Rescue personnel are saying “divine intervention” saved this sweet little girl.
Little girl thrown from car, becomes the ultimate car crash survivor

Astonishingly, an 8-month-old child was left with nothing but a scratch on her forehead after being thrown from a car during a road accident in Texarkana, Arkansas in the U.S.

The miraculous turn of events unfolded after it’s believed a taxi clipped the back of the little girl’s family’s car as the vehicle was changing lanes.

When the police, firefighters and paramedics arrived at the crash site, everyone was accounted for, with the exception of an 8-month-old girl.

It was then that a passerby, who had left his vehicle to assist those in the accident, heard crying from a nearby pile of hay on the side of the road.

Rescuers approached the hay to find the 8-month-old sitting almost upright in the drain’s grate.

Josh Moore, a firefighter who was one of the first responders called to the scene, was in clear disbelief to find this infant almost completely unscathed.

“There had to be some kind of divine intervention for her to end up being OK the way that she was,” he told KSLA News.

Not only that, but when she was found, she wasn’t crying or screaming. Apparently, Josh says she was just sitting there in the drain, looking up almost as if she was patiently waiting to be rescued.

“She was just sitting there waiting for us,” Moore continued.

Captain Charlie Smith, who was also on the scene, says that while this infant’s survival is nothing short of extraordinary, others aren’t always so fortunate.

“So many times we go out and things aren’t OK,” he says, adding that this is an incredibly positive story to tell, especially as Christmas is swiftly approaching.
