Less than two years after Allen’s controversy culled green frogs and spearmint leaves from its line-up, the confectioner is back to cure that sour taste it left in our mouths.
Its created not one but three new sweets, but there’s a catch. It’s up to the public to vote for the one they want to see hit supermarket shelves – Ginger Cats, Choc & Cream jellys, or Funny Teeth. They’re inspired by the manufacturer’s iconic offerings but come in new colours and flavours.
The Black Cat, which is actually yellow, tastes like spicy ginger.
The Choc & Cream tastes like a cross between Chicos and Milkbottles.
Lastly the funny teeth will come in three new flavours: crisp apple-mint, pineapple-mint and the original vanilla-mint.
Lolly lovers can cast their vote at Nestle from now until February 3. The winner will be announced on February 8 and be available in a solo pack from Woolworths from late March.
