AFL star Albert Proud charged with attempted murder of girlfriend

Albert Proud's girlfriend, Richelle Kadadi, was found bashed on a street on Sunday.

Former AFL star Albert Proud has been charged with the attempted murder of his girlfriend, Richelle Kadadi.

Ms Kadadi was found ‘bashed in the streets’ by the bride and groom of a wedding she had just attended on Sunday.

Richelle, 35, remains in hospital, with friends saying she faces a long road to recovery.

The Courier Mail reports that former Brisbane Lions player Proud is accused of assaulting Richelle, causing severe face and head injuries.

“She was discovered by the bride and groom of a wedding the couple has just attended. Her injuries were so bad she suffered a brain haemorrhage,” the Courier Mail reported.

Friends have created a crowdfunding page to assist her rehabilitation, saying Richelle is a single Mum “now in hospital fighting with all she has to come home to her little son and family and friends.”

Proud, who played 29 games for the AFL club, has been charged with attempted murder, acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and willful damage.
