A three year old girl has been mauled by a dog outside her home in the Sydney suburb of Minto.

Elizabeth Faragalla was left with deep cuts to her face and arms after she was attacked by a Jack Russell terrier.

Her older sister, Marina, told the Daily Mail that the dog jumped on the toddler and pushed her to the ground.”She has a big cut on her face just inches away from her eyeball,” she said.

Marina said Elizabeth was attacked in the families front garden. “I was inside the house at the time, but I could hear screams and yelling and came out to see her covered in blood.

“The small black and white dog jumped onto her and she fell backwards on her face. She was terrified and is now covered in cuts and bruises.”

The toddler was treated at the scene by paramedics before being rushed to Liverpool Hospital. She is due to have stitches today and will also be given antibiotics.

The Dog was was restrained by it’s owners and locked in a car until the police arrived.
