A 22-year-old woman has experienced a horrific 17-hour ordeal after allegedly being kidnapped and sexually assaulted.
The Brisbane woman says she was taken from her home in Darra against her will at around 8pm on Monday night by a man in his 50s. She was then allegedly driven to several different locations, assaulted and threatened with violence.
She was released at 1.30pm on Tuesday and taken to hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Police were alerted after the woman left a distressed voicemail on her partner’s phone, with the sound of a man in the background.
The alleged attacker was arrested in Grafton, northern New South Wales, and is expected to be extradited to Queensland to face court today, His charges are kidnapping, deprivation of liberty and assault.
