This little girl inspires her mum to keep fighting cancer with a touching song

Four-year-old McKenna has won the hearts of people all over the world after she was seen in this video serenading her cancer-stricken mother with Martina McBride’s I’m Gonna Love You Through It.

For half of her young life, the gorgeous little girl has been supporting her mother, Dianna Stanchak. Dianne was diagnosed with stage four Hodgkin’s lymphoma when McKenna was just two.

To help her fight the debilitating disease, McKenna has taken to serenading her mother daily with song to help inspire her to keep fighting.

Dressed in a pretty pink dress, the video shows little McKenna singing to her teary mother, singing: “When you feel lost and scared to death, like you can’t take one more step, just take my hand, together we can do it. I’m gonna love you through it.”

“I have not seen a smile on my daughter’s face in almost two years. She was Diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkin Lymphoma ‘specialty”, a very rare form, on Christmas Eve 2013,” McKenna’s grandmother Dee reveals.

“McKenna sings this song to her Mummy every day!” says Dee, “She is the main reason she fights to live and beat this battle.”

The video, which has garnered more than 520,000 likes on Facebook, has attracted attention from Ellen DeGeneres, who commented, “I love this so much”.

And it even caught the eye of singer Martina McBride, who wrote the song.

“I love this too!” tweeted the country singer, “So touching. And she can SING!”
