Nearly 14 years after Love Actually graced our screens for the first time, most of the original cast are banding together for a 10-minute reunion in the name of charity.
Red Nose Actually will debut during Comic Relief in the UK on March 24th and after multiple sneak peeks, the sequel has just released its trailer.
The clip features Andrew Lincoln and his iconic giant white sheets of paper.
Despite his now legendary love letter being one of the worst things you can do to your best friend, we have a weakness for a tragic unrequited love so his appearance has fans in a flutter.
Earlier this month, producer, and real life angel, Emma Freud blessed us with some behind the scenes shot of David (Hugh Grant) and Natalie (Martine McCucheon).
Freud confirms the pair are still married (bless) and while Grant has embraced the silver fox charm, McCucheon looks like she hasn’t aged a day since the 2003 film and we’re not entirely convinced she isn’t some sort of vampire.
The feature isn’t short of talent behind the scenes either. Richard Curtis, alongside co-director Mat Whitecross, has jumped back into the director’s chair and two-time Oscar nominee Joanna Johnston has been entrusted to design the short’s costumes.
“I would never have dreamt of writing a sequel to Love Actually,” Curtis previously said of the project, “but I thought it might be fun to do 10 minutes to see what everyone is now up to. Who has aged best? I guess that’s the big question — or is it so obviously Liam?
“We’ve been delighted and grateful that so many of the cast are around and able to take part — and it’ll certainly be a nostalgic moment getting back together and recreating their characters 14 years later. We hope to make something that’ll be fun and which we hope will help bring lots of viewers and cash to the Red Nose Day shows.”
It also looks as if Hugh Grant is recreating his famous speech scene. No Billy Bob Thornton in sight though.
Other images have also surfaced of Rowan Atkinson as Rufus in the Love Actually sequel.
Unfortunately, Emma Thompson will not be reprising her role as Karen for the charity broadcast. The star said it is “too sad and too soon” after the death of her co-star Alan Rickman, who plays her husband in the original film, and it wouldn’t feel right to take part without him.
We can’t wait.
