Oliver Curtis’ appeal to have his conviction for insider trading overturned has been rejected meaning his PR Queen wife Roxy Jacenko and their two children will have to spend Christmas without him, reports The Sydney Morning Herald.
Curtis, 31, was sentenced to a minimum of one year behind bars after he was found guilty of making an illegal deal to “fund a lifestyle of conspicuous extravagance,” Justice Lucy McCallum said while doling out the investment banker’s punishment in June.
Curtis has served nearly half of his stint in prison at Cooma Correctional Centre – a minimum to medium prison facility south of Canberra.
While Curtis was The Court of Criminal Appeal on Friday morning his wife was not in attendance as it appeared to be business as usual for the Sweaty Betty director.
This morning 36-year-old Roxy posted a selfie to her Instagram page, captioned with a single love heart.
In August Roxy talked about how she was helping support her husband while in prison by giving him money each week to by essentials like a blanket for the cool Cooma climate.
“It’s not a fun place, it’s sad,” Roxy told radio hosts Kyle and Jackie O of going to see her husband. “People are visiting family who may not be out for a long time.”
Just weeks after her husband’s jail sentencing Jacenko went public with her breast cancer battle.
In July, Roxy had a tumour removed which was filmed as part of a 60 Minutes documentary and in late September the mother-of-two announced she had completed treatment.
